Passover and Judaism Class
/March/2009
Free Flame Seders and new class in Judaism . . .
Dear Friends:
I apologize that I have not written in so long but I hope you will agree with me that the news I am sharing was worth the wait.
First, I am thrilled to announce that this year our Passover Seders will be run in the beautiful, new home of the Young Israel of New Rochelle in co-sponsorship with the congregation. Now, I know that this will devastate those of you who were cramped into my house over the years but I know you will get over it. You will also suffer with waiters and clean up help. The content will, of course, be the same. Everything will be explained. There will be lots of English, lots of discussion. Perhaps most importantly, to ensure that we keep that warm family feeling, RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED AND WE ARE LIMITING ATTENDANCE. Please email me or call me at 914 4817584 to make sure you get your spot. There is no cost but voluntary contributions are accepted and appreciated. We estimate our expenses at $ 35 or so a person per night. But this is not about money. Come whether or not you can contribute. We know times are tough and I am pleased that the Flame has safeguarded your contributions over the years and can afford a loss on this so you need not feel even a little uncomfortable if you cannot pay. Also, housing is available for the holiday.
Second, the Young Israel of New Rochelle is running a Crash Course in Basic Judaism consisting of a three lecture series by Rabbi Ephraim Buchwald at the Young Israel of New Rochelle. I know Effie personally and he is a great speaker and a great guy. This is a not to be missed program on three Wednesday nights starting on March 18. Please see www.yinr.org for more details. If you like, I can forward a flyer.
Finally, do not forget that the Flame can and will provide you with a free teacher on any Jewish subject. Just give me a call.
